Toshiba Android 3.0 tablet
Toshiba’s highly anticipated Android 3.0 tablet, simply named the Toshiba Tablet has been pushed back another quarter. The 10″ Honeycomb device was supposed to be released in the UK during Q2 this year, but now Ken Chan, head of business laptops for Toshiba UK has been reported as saying that the tablet will not be arriving until Q3 2011.
Similarly specced like the Motorola Xoom, the Toshiba Tablet will pack a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 display, a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 5megapixel rear camera and a 0.2megapixel front facing camera, HDMI output, USB mini and USB port, SD card support, and 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi.
No reason was given to why the tablet would be delayed, but Ken Chan promised, “It’ll be here at the very end of summer.” The Toshiba Tablet was shown off at CES earlier this year, and was notorious for its website that made fun of iOS devices due to their lack of Flash support.
Speculations now say that Toshiba will be waiting for NVIDIA to launch their next generation Tegra processors (Kal El) though it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that the recent disaster in Japan could have been a cause of the delay as well. Stay tuned,
